i was told in #889 by @lastsamurai26 that they were working on the initiative to use custom blocks for extensions and i have been waiting for the block sharing/installation feature to mature to implement my changes with that instead.

@JulianPrieber could you please provide a statue update on that? if that is not going to be widely adopted in the near future, could we merge #889 and #893 for now?

Basically, we had to pause community contributions until the next release is out. We had some major breaking changes that occupied us for quite a while now.

@zacyu We're getting ready to move things on into production. After that we'll focus on pending issues and pull-requests.

Work on new brands was paused during the block system update. We’re looking to get things moving again and would appreciate your input. If you can, ping on Discord: tny.st/discord.

The way it looks right now, the block system will remain a developer-only feature, but we expect the current version to last us until version 5.0.
Until then, the idea is to maintain compatibility and extend the system as required. The system is mature enough to integrate native block components on your production site. The internal block system has been fully migrated to this system, so all our components work on the same principle.

Adding links is fairly straightforward. Basically everything you see the app doing right now can be done with the block system.

Block sharing/installation is planned but is not scheduled as of now. We have ongoing issues with our free web services we provide, this is taking up a lot of my time and money. We are committed to keep our project accessible and open for everyone, but this commitment is additionally slowing down development quite a bit right now.
